Poor Sleep= Obesity?

Insufficient sleep in early childhood has been discovered to be a big risk factor for obesity.  There was a new study done by the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children.  The researchers analyzed the long-term effects of sleep on kids 6 months old to 7 years.  The researchers measured sleeping patterns including naps, and when the kids reached seven years old the researchers measured their height, weight, abdominal fat, lean body mass, waist circumference and hip circumference.  Their “rubric” to measure inadequate sleep was for children ages 6 months to 2 years- anything under 12 hours was not good and for kids between ages 3 and 4 anything less than 10 hours was bad; and for children between ages 5 and 7 anything less than 9 hours was insufficient.  The kids were given sleep scores from a scale of 0 to 13 0 being the lowest.  Children with lower scores had measurements of obesity.

Twins meet after 78 years

After 78 long years a pair of fraternal twins are reuntined.  Both were born in Aldershot, England but the mom decided to keep only one.  She simply couldn't keep both of themn from the low pay she recieved as a house servant.  The one that stayed in England was told she had a sister but never tried looking for her since she knew it would be too hard.  The other sister, living in California, has a daughter who researched her family tree and told her mom of a long lost twin.  The hunt was on and after 1 year of communicating through Skype the sisters met in person.  Besides the fact that they married men with the same first name and last name initial, they are very different.  The one who stayed in England is more emotional and sensitive while her Californian sister is a bit tougher.

Subway

The sandwhich chain Subway is about to give their customers a new ingredient!  Hummus is on trial and might be offered nationally soon.  They are giving the option to expand the possibilites for their vegetarian customers and will be offering it at a time where people cut back on meat.  The hummus will cost more, about the same as the avacodo which is something recent for Subway too.  Mainly focusing on the 20 year old costumers since studies have shown that that age group is more nutritionally aware.  They started testing the chickpea spread in early April and noticed that it's s good choice for the young people who more commonly explore with being a vegetarian or a vegan.
